Ever since its launch in July this year, the Creta has seen buyers from all over the country, leading  to the waiting period for the popular SUV from Hyundai going up to 10 months in certain cities, within a few weeks.

The waiting period for the Creta then saw a decline to up to six months for the diesel automatic variant. Dealers are now saying that diesel models of the Creta can be delivered by end-January if booked now, while the petrol model can be delivered even earlier. The waiting period of the Creta now is up to three months for the diesel automatic, whereas the manual variants can be delivered earlier.

This reduction in the waiting period could be attributed to the increase in production from the original 5,000 units per month to 7,000 units last month and with a further growth to 9,000 to 10,000 units per month from December. The Creta also saw an increases in the prices by up to Rs 20,000.

The Hyundai Creta is offered with the choice of 1.6-litre petrol, 1.6-litre diesel and 1.4-litre diesel engines, and is available in six trim levels – Base, S, S+, SX, SX+ and SX(O). The 1.6 diesel on the SX+ also gets the option of a six-speed automatic gearbox, while the other models get a six-speed manual as standard.

The Hyundai Creta rivals the likes of the Maruti S-cross and the Renault Duster.
