Honda hikes car prices from Rs 4000

The Brio gets a marginal hike of Rs 4,000 for the base model, while the Accord 3.5 V6 is dearer by Rs 94,000.

Honda has revealed its revised car prices post budget due to increase in basic excise duty. 

The Brio gets a marginal hike of Rs 4,000 for the base model going up to Rs 10,000 for the top end variant. Its larger hatchback, the Jazz, gets a uniform price rise of nearly Rs 15,000 for all variants. The City, that sold 6,052 units last month, has become dearer by Rs 5,000-10,500. The corporate edition that used to cost Rs 6.99 lakh, the cheapest City variant gets the steepest hike. The automatic with sunroof too gets a Rs 10,500 increase.

The Civic gets a steeper hike ranging from Rs 36,600 to Rs 45,800 from the base to the top-end variant. Buying an Accord gets more difficult, the rising yen aside, since prices for the 2.4 M/T is up by Rs 67,500 and the 3.5 V6 is dearer by Rs 94,000.
