Ford has introduced the AppLink feature with the SYNC infotainment system on the Ecosport. AppLink allows users to access smartphone applications through voice-commands. However, the feature is only available on the top-of-the-line Titanium trim of the Ecosport; it was first introduced on the Fiesta.

“Introduction of Ford AppLink enhances the value proposition offered by Ford EcoSport,” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India. “Consumers today are leading an increasingly connected lifestyle and wish to stay up-to-date even while on the move. (AppLink) helps them stay connected without ever compromising on convenience.”

Keeping up with the cricketing season, one of the applications that have been introduced is ESPN Cricinfo. Besides, Ford AppLink also comes with Explore (powered by MapMyIndia), and a secure location sharing app called Glympse. Ford is working with several app partners in India and across the globe to add to the list of AppLink compatible apps.
