The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a price revision for the FASTag Annual Pass, increasing it slightly from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075. The revised price will come into effect from April 1, 2026, and it'll be applicable to non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag, usable at about 1,150 toll plazas on national highways and expressways.

  1. Annual Pass can be activated on an existing FASTag
  2. Over 56 lakh FASTag Annual Pass users: NHAI

Introduced on August 15, 2025, the Annual Pass lets non-commercial vehicle owners use national highways and expressways hassle-free with a lump-sum payment, valid for one year or 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first. For reference, most toll plazas in India charge at least Rs 70, with some charging more than Rs 200. Since its launch, the FASTag Annual Pass has been purchased by more than 56 lakh users, NHAI stated.

Where to buy FASTag Annual Pass?

Private vehicle owners can buy or renew the pass through the NHAI website or the Rajmarg Yatra App, which is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. A new FASTag is not required as the yearly pass can be activated on your existing tag. The pass will be activated after the vehicle and the linked FASTag are verified for eligibility.

Vehicle owners must also follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, such as correctly placing the FASTag on the windshield and linking the tag to a valid Vehicle Registration Number (VRN). Note that FASTag is non-transferable, and it is only for the vehicle on which the tag is affixed and registered. Using it on any non-registered vehicle will lead to deactivation.
