The new Mercedes-Benz E-class Coupe has surfaced online, thanks to an official brochure leaked prior to the car’s unveiling in the coming days.

The E-class Coupe receives styling familiar to the standard E-class up front, with Mercedes’ latest LED headlamps and a large single-bar grille with diamond design inserts. The profile is similar to the smaller C-class Coupe and larger S-class Coupe with a sharply raked roofline, though the E-class seems to get a unique rear-quarter window not seen in its other coupe siblings. Rear styling is in line with the rest of Mercedes’ coupe family. Also leaked were images of a sportier AMG Line model with larger 19-inch wheels and sportier bumpers.

Inside, the cabin is similar to the new E-class sedan with dual 12.3-inch displays acting as the instrument cluster and infotainment display, with similar control surfaces but a new design circular air-con vents. Equipment on offer, as per the brochures, includes Mercedes’ Dynamic Select drive mode selector, a 23-speaker Burmester audio system and Mercedes’ COMAND Online infotainment system.

In terms of engines, the brochure detailed three engines: a 194hp 2.0-litre diesel – the E 220 d; a 184hp 2.0-litre petrol – the E200, with a more powerful 245hp iteration of the same motor under the hood of the E 300; and a 333hp 3.0-litre V6 with all-wheel drive – the E 400 4Matic.

Mercedes is set to unveil the new E-class Coupe on December 14, prior to making its public debut at the Detroit motor show in January 2017. The E-class Coupe is also set to receive a new Mercedes-AMG E50 model celebrating 50 years of AMG. The model is expected to be one of the first models to be powered by the automaker’s new 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder petrol engine.
