Nissan’s low-cost brand Datsun has unveiled its first model for the Russian market, the on-Do sedan.

According to Datsun, the new on-Do sedan has been designed for Russia. The Datsun on-Do sedan is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol motor which is good for 87bhp. It is around 4.3 meters long, 1.7 meters wide and 1.5 meters tall. The on-Do sedan has a 530 litre boot volume which is class-leading for the Russian market.

Datsun will manufacture the on-Do sedan at the Avtovaz plant in Russia. The on-Do sedan shares its platform with the Lada Granta sedan sold in Russia.

Russia is second market for Datsun after India, where the Japanese low-cost car brand launched the Go hatchback recently. Datsun will sell the on-Do sedan in Russia from June this year through 25 branded dealerships. Nissan’s low-cost brand expects to have 75 dealerships in Russia in the next two years.
