The 2017 Cartier Concours d’Elegance, the only classic and vintage car show in India done to international standards, is set to take place at the Taj Falaknuma Palace grounds, Hyderabad, on February 4-5.

The first day of the Concours d’Elegance will be for pre-judging the entries with the main event, including the award ceremony, being held on the second day.

For this year’s event, the judges include many famous names such as The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elégance chairman Sandra Button, Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) president Jean Todt, legendary racing driver Sir Stirling Moss, renowned F1 designer Gordon Murray, founder of Goodwood Festival of Speed Lord March and HRH Prince Michael of Kent.

The chief judge for this year’s event will be none other than Simon Kidston.

For the 2017 Cartier, the organisers have for the first time since 2011 split the Rolls-Royce class into two categories – the Rolls-Royce Class and the Rolls-Royce Grand Class – based on engine displacement. The Rolls-Royce Class will feature cars from the automaker with smaller displacement engines such as the Rolls-Royce 20/25 and 25/35. The Grand Class will feature the larger displacement models such as the Silver Ghost, Phantom and Phantom II.

A new category added this year is the American Aerodynamic Class which will feature cars from the 1930s which drew styling inspiration from aviation. Models in this category will include the likes of the Lincoln Zephyr and the Chrysler Airflow.

Other classes carried over from last year include the following:

  • Pre-war European
  • Post-war European
  • Pre-war American
  • Post-war American
  • Indian Heritage Class
  • Roadster Class
  • Preservation Class

One of the cars' set to be present at this year’s event will be a 1921 Rolls-Royce 40/50HP ‘Silver Ghost’ owned by HRH the Maharaja of Wankaner, Gujarat.
