Mini has launched a new special edition Cooper S badged the Carbon Edition. Priced at Rs 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Carbon Edition is limited to just 20 units available exclusively on Amazon India. In comparison, the standard three-door Cooper S is priced at Rs 31.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Cooper S Carbon Edition features additional accessories and performance updates via a John Cooper Works tuning kit. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine has been uprated to develop 210hp and 300Nm of torque as against 192hp and 280Nm of the standard Cooper S. The motor is paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and Launch Control. Mini claims the Carbon Edition can sprint from 0-100kph in 6.5 seconds – 0.2 seconds faster than the Cooper S – and a top speed bumped up by 20kph to 300kph. Interestingly, this makes the Cooper S Carbon Edition the fastest, most powerful and most expensive Mini currently on sale in the country.

In terms of accessories, the car gets a sportier body kit, a new exhaust, carbonfibre finished tailpipes, 17-inch black alloy wheels, JCW sports seats and a sportier JCW steering. Equipment on offer includes LED headlamps, electric damper control, heads-up display, drive modes, rear-parking sensors and the option of an 8.8-inch infotainment display with touch-pad controller. The Mini Cooper S Carbon Edition is available in three exterior colour options Pepper White, Thunder Grey and Midnight Black.

With the limited-run Carbon Edition, Mini is looking to offer select customers a chance to own a more performance oriented Mini than the range currently on offer.
