Around three-four months following the international unveiling of the BMW 5-series facelift, the refreshed luxury car is finally launching in India on October 10.
The facelift sees cosmetic changes and additional features in the car.
On the outside, there are added lines around the front grille, headlamps have been refreshed, the air intakes have been reshaped, the front bumper has been revised, the front fog lamp surrounds get touches of chrome as does the rear apron and the tail-lamps are restyled. The facelifted BMW 5-series will also get new alloys.
The equipment list on the car is also longer now. Xenon headlamps come as standard while adaptive LEDs are available as an option. The foglamps are also LED and the wing mirrors come with integrated turn indicators. The cabin ambient lights can also be alternated between orange and white while the iDrive control screen comes with a trackpad on the control dial and it also gets a chrome border now. The carmaker claims increased storage spaces on the inside and improved fuel consumption with the help of a function that disengages the powertrain when coasting. An added feature allows the opening and closing of the boot with a motion of the foot under the rear bumper.
Engines and pricing should be similar to the current car and BMW will surely focus on the 520d which the largest selling variant.
