Audi India team scores in Audi Twin Cup competition

The 14th edition of the Audi International Twin Cup competition saw the Audi India team take 2nd place in the ‘Technology’ category. Held in Saalfelden, Austria, from July 25-27, the global championship saw the best teams of technicians and service advisors from 34 countries apply their skills and expertise to a range of tests. The win is yet another indication of the high-level skills seen in the Indian automotive industry workforce – on a global scale, to boot.

“It is not easy to compete amongst 34 different technology teams that are well-versed with the technical knowledge and are highly efficient in their work," said Rahil Ansari, Head – Audi India. "Overcoming these challenges, Audi India team fought hard and bagged the second slot in the ‘Technology’ category. By delivering on a framework moderated by Audi AG, the team from India has clearly validated that the Audi service and technical knowledge is clearly at par with the level of service offered worldwide by Audi.”

Nearly 2,500 teams from Audi dealers participated in the national competition, spanning 34 countries; only 67 teams qualified for the international finals in Saalfelden. During the two-day main event, the participants demonstrated their advisory skills and technical expertise in typical customer situations – ranging from the check-in inspection to diagnosing hidden defects and carrying out repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

This year’s theoretical and practical tasks involved the Audi SQ7, with a priority given to customer focus. The competing teams underwent concrete challenges to demonstrate an effective use of the new, flexible core service process to provide individualised customer support. The technical inspection and guided troubleshooting for features like the 360deg camera system also put their technical skill and precision to the test.

In the ‘Technology’ category, the team from Slovakia performed impressively to win 1st place, Team India stood 2nd while the team from Australia slotted-in 3rd.

In the ‘Service’ category, Team Japan claimed the top position, followed by Team Russia and Team United Kingdom. Team India closed the top five teams in 5th place of the ‘Service’ category.

In the ‘Twin’ category, France bagged the top spot. The Swiss team performed impressively to bag 2nd place, with the service technicians and advisors from the USA following close in 3rd place. Team India once again stood at 5th.

“The Audi Twin Cup is an initiative to recognise our dealer partners who continuously strive towards delivering exceptional customer service," said Ansari. "It is a proud moment for us to have bagged the second position in the ‘Technology’ category of the world finals of the Audi International Twin Cup 2018. This clearly displays the level of service expertise and technical knowledge of the Audi India team when it comes to consistent customer focus.”
