Audi has released detailed sketches of the e-tron Quattro concept car prior to its debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September. The upcoming all-electric crossover concept is said to preview the looks of the Q6 electric SUV which is expected to be launched internationally in 2018.

The sketches of the e-tron concept reveal that it combines the sporty looks of a coupé with the rugged styling of a SUV. The concept car gets an upright front-end design along with a new interpretation of the Audi grille and angular L-shaped headlamps. On the flanks, the concept features large wheels and body cladding along with a raked roofline and a receding window-line. It also gets a roof-mounted spoiler and a sharply raked rear windshield. Adjustable aerodynamic elements are seen at the front, sides and back. The company claims the concept, based on the Audi's latest MLB platform, has a range of over 500km.

The interior sketch shows a four-seat layout and minimalist design, where all functions in the cabin are controlled through OLED displays located on the centre console and dashboard. The instrument cluster also appears to be a digital unit.

The e-tron Quattro concept is powered by three electric motors with two located on the rear axle, driving the rear wheels while the third is on the front axle. The battery pack is located under the passenger compartment to keep the centre of gravity low and improve the driving dynamics as well.
