For the past five years, the Mercedes-Benz Classic Car Rally – organised in partnership with Autocar India – has been wowing the streets of Mumbai; and the 2019 edition, which will take place on November 10, is expected to exceed last year’s event, in terms of participation and the sheer excitement. This year’s Mercedes Classic Car Rally will be even more special as it will celebrate 25 years of Mercedes-Benz in India.

In case you have a classic or vintage Mercedes-Benz that you’d like to have participate (or at least have on display) in the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Classic Car Rally, the eligibility criteria are as follows:

All Mercedes-Benz passenger cars produced up to 1996 are eligible to participate in the 2019 iteration of the event. In addition, the following models produced until the end of their life-cycle are eligible to participate:

  • R129 SL Class (all years)
  • R170 SLK Class (all years)
  • W140 S Class (all years)
  • W124 E Class (all years)
  • W202 C Class (all years)
  • W461 G Class (all years)
  • W163 ML Class (up to 2001)

Unimogs and other models will also be allowed to participate on a case-by-case basis.

As with last years’ event – which had a W08 Nurburg, a 300 SL Roadster, a 500K, a 230L Pullman, different examples of the 300 ‘Adenauer’ limousine and loads more – some of the rarest Mercedes-Benz cars ever made are expected at this year’s event too. A rare find expected at the 2019 rally is the 170V (W136) models in a number of different body styles. There’ll be a bevy of iconic modern classics too.

Entries are nearly full so hurry and register now!
