Ferrari’s 812 Superfast is now on sale in India and has been priced at Rs 5.2 crore (ex-showroom). This ‘base’ price does not include the cost of personalisations and options.

The latest in a long line of front-engined, rear-wheel drive V12 Ferrari GTs, the 812 Superfast is a replacement for the F12 Berlinetta. True to its name, the Superfast is, well, super fast; Ferrari claims a 0-100kph time of a scant 2.9sec and a top speed of 340kph for this supercar.

At the heart of the 812 is a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 petrol engine that makes a mind-boggling 800hp at 8,500rpm. This power figure makes the 812 the most powerful series-production Ferrari of all time. Aside from this distinction, the 812 Superfast is also the first Ferrari to make the dramatic shift to an electric power steering (EPS). The EPS is an integral element of the 812’s electronic vehicle dynamic control package, with Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 (rear-wheel steering), F1-Trac (progressive traction control), SSC (Side Slip Control) and a third-generation e-differential being just some of the tech highlights on the 812 Superfast.

The 812 Superfast's cabin seats two and, in true modern-day Ferrari style, buyers will be left spoilt for choice with the level of personalisation. There’s a full range of options from seat stitching to steering wheel finish, all of which come at a price. On average, it is expected 812 Superfast buyers will spec their cars with upwards of Rs 40 lakh worth of options.

The first 812 Superfast is expected to arrive in India in the coming months. Come July, Ferrari’s latest foldable hard-top GT, the Portofino will also go on sale in India with a price in the region of Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom).
