Maruti Suzuki XL6 safety update
The XL6 is the latest Nexa model to be updated with six airbags as standard. However, Maruti hasn’t yet revealed the detailed price list post this update and has only indicated that prices will go up by 0.8 percent.
Prior to this update, the XL6’s ex-showroom price ranged between Rs 11.83 lakh and Rs 14.83 lakh. So, the increase is expected to be in the range of Rs 9,500 to Rs 12,000, depending on the variant.
Other standard safety features on the XL6 include ESC, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats and a brake-assist function. Tyre-pressure monitoring system and a 360-degree camera, however, are limited to the top trim.
There are no other changes to the equipment list of the XL6. It continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 103hp and 137Nm of torque and comes with 5-speed manual or 6-speed AT gearboxes. In CNG-spec, which is only available on the base Zeta trim, this engine produces 88hp and 121Nm.
All Marutis to be updated with 6 airbags by year end
In April this year, Maruti Suzuki chairman RC Bhargava had said, “We will be having six airbags in all our cars by the end of this year.” As it stands, only the Fronx, Ignis and S-Presso are yet to receive this update.
