Maruti Suzuki has revealed the complete price list of the recently introduced CNG AMT versions of the Dzire, Baleno, and Swift. Introductory ex-showroom prices of the Dzire, Baleno, and Swift CNGs begin at Rs 8.53 lakh, Rs 8.32 lakh, and Rs 7.92 lakh, respectively. Maruti now joins the list of carmakers offering an AMT gearbox with CNG-powered vehicles along with Tata Motors.

For the Dzire and Swift, the CNG AMT variants command a premium of Rs 35,000 over their respective manual gearbox-equipped counterparts. In the case of the Baleno, its CNG AMT versions are Rs 40,000 pricier than the manual. Compared to their respective petrol AMT variants, the Dzire, Baleno and Swift CNG AMTs cost an additional Rs 81,000, Rs 79,500 and Rs 82,500, respectively.
Maruti Dzire, Baleno and Swift CNG AMT: What’s different?
As the name suggests, the newest addition to the Dzire, Baleno and Swift CNGs is a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Apart from that, pretty much everything else remains the same. Like on their manual-equipped counterparts, Maruti has tweaked the suspension to handle the tank’s extra weight and added a fuel switch and a CNG fuel level indicator.
All models are powered by Maruti’s Z12E, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine producing 70hp and 102Nm in CNG mode. Notably, AMT-equipped CNG-powered versions of the Dzire, Baleno and Swift get higher claimed mileage figures than their manual counterparts. The Dzire, Baleno and Swift CNG AMTs have a claimed mileage of 36.47km/kg, 34.47km/kg and 36.47km/kg, respectively.
However, unlike the Victoris and Brezza, which get an underbody-mounted tank, the Dzire, Baleno, and Swift CNG’s have the tank fitted inside the boot along with a spare wheel. This arrangement translates into negligible boot space for these models. Alternatives like the Tata Tigor, Altroz, and Tiago CNG AMTs, which these models are aimed squarely at, come with dual-cylinder tanks that allow for some usable boot space.
