BYD India will hike prices of its cars by up to 2 percent from July 1, 2026. As a result, prices of electric vehicles such as the Atto 3, eMax 7, Seal and Sealion 7 could increase by up to Rs 1.1 lakh, depending on the variant. “This price revision is [due to] foreign exchange fluctuations,” said Rajeev Chauhan, head of Electric Passenger Vehicles business.
- Forex volatility is the prime driver of price revision
- Those booking in May and June will benefit from current prices
Ex-showroom BYD car prices | ||
EV | Price range (in Rs lakh) | Expected price increase (up to Rs) |
Atto 3 | 24.99-33.99 | 67,980 |
eMax 7 | 26.90-29.90 | 59,800 |
Seal | 41-53.15 | 1,06,300 |
| Sealion 7 | 49.40-54.90 | 1,09,800 |
Customers making bookings in May and June 2026 will be able to get the cars at the current rates, provided delivery is taken on or before July 31, 2026. Bookings made on or after July 1, 2026, will be subject to the revised pricing. This follows a price hike of up to 3 percent that took effect earlier this month. That increase was linked to the tense situation around the Strait of Hormuz.
Currently, BYD has 48 dealerships across 40 cities. All of its cars come to India as full imports.
