Kawasaki Versys 650 Expert Review
7.0
The Kawasaki Versys 650 features a tall adventure-tourer design with a twin-headlamp setup, adjustable windscreen and alloy wheels that highlight its road-focused nature. The fit and finish are excellent, with premium switchgear, adjustable levers and high-quality materials throughout. However, the rear design appears slightly bulky and lacks the balanced proportions seen from the front.
9.0
The upright riding position and spacious seat make the Versys 650 comfortable for long-distance touring, especially for taller riders. The adjustable windscreen provides good wind protection at highway speeds. However, the narrow handlebar offers less leverage than expected, and the bike's heavy weight makes it tiring to manoeuvre in city traffic and at low speeds.
8.0
The 649cc parallel-twin engine delivers strong low- and mid-range performance with smooth throttle response and excellent refinement. The slick 6-speed gearbox and light clutch make everyday riding effortless, while the engine remains vibration-free even at higher speeds. It is quick and enjoyable on highways, although it lacks the distinctive character and sound of an inline-four engine.
9.0
The long-travel suspension delivers a comfortable ride and absorbs road imperfections well. The Versys 650 feels stable and confident on highways, with strong braking performance and dual-channel ABS adding to rider confidence. However, its heavy kerb weight and high centre of gravity make quick direction changes and low-speed handling more demanding. It is also not designed for serious off-road riding.
7.0
The motorcycle comes with an adjustable windscreen, a comprehensive instrument cluster, LED lighting, adjustable control levers and dual-channel ABS. The overall equipment level suits its touring-focused character.
8.0
The Kawasaki Versys 650 is a refined and comfortable sport tourer that excels on highways with its smooth engine, premium build quality and comfortable ergonomics. However, its weight and limited agility in traffic make it less versatile for everyday city use.
