India has been eagerly waiting for the Yamaha YZF-R3 for a while now. Scheduled to be launched on August 11, spy pictures of the YZF-R3 have been doing rounds on the internet.

These reportedly originated from Bengaluru, completely revealing the motorcycle ahead of its India launch. Manufactured in Jakarta, the motorcycle is sold globally as CKD kits. What is interesting though is that these pictures show the Yamaha YZF-R3 with a saree guard. India is the only country that mandates the sale of motorcycles with a saree guard.

The Yamaha YZF-R3 will come to India as a CKD kit too, and will be locally assembled. The major parts will be imported, while some of the parts are going to be sourced locally. There is no word about the motorcycle's pricing. More details will be revealed once the YZF-R3 is launched here.
