Pune-based start-up goEgoNetwork has installed Bharat AC and Dual Socket Type 2 chargers at Kaza, Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh, making it world’s highest EV charging station (situated at 3,800m).

The company, which specialises in charging infrastructure, organised a ride from Manali to Kaza with two TVS iQubes to celebrate World Zero-Emission Day on September 21. goEgo collaborated with TVS to promote the EV infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh. 

The electric scooters were ridden through the Manali-Kaza route, a popular biking route in India passing over Kunzum-La pass. One of the riders, Maanvi Rawlley from goEgo, commented, “As a maiden rider in the hills, I had my apprehensions about how an EV scooter would perform in those temperatures and terrain. But the electric scooters withheld it all and took us to the roof of the country with aplomb.”

The company has said that it aims “to encourage EV owners to relish seamless and anxiety-free long-distance travel, goEgoNetwork is committed to set up public charging stations across all popular destinations in India”. The charging station is located at Hotel Dayzor and is ready to charge EV scooters and cars.
