A group of four final year mechanical engineering students – Mandeep Dharsul, Dishant Chopra, Rohtash Bura and Manish Dhanda at Terii Engineering College in Kurukshetra have designed a lost-cost gearbox that could be fitted on the specially designed four wheeled motorcycle and can move the vehicle in reverse direction. The gearbox, as designed by these students as their college project, is placed near the engine inside the side panel and it works via a dedicated hand-operated lever.

As a unique innovation, the technology can benefit the disabled and aged persons. According to these students, this technology would be affordable and cost between Rs 4,500 to Rs 5,500.
