While Indian enthusiasts are waiting for Bajaj’s sporty new 200SS and 400SS, a pair of fully faired sportsbikes, the bike maker has silently unveiled a more practical version of its Pulsar 200NS in Indonesia. Images released on the internet that suggest this new Pulsar is not very different from its 200NS sibling.

The motorcycle is essentially a 200NS with a smart-looking quarter fairing that now extends backwards to meet the motorcycle's fuel tank. It gets a mid-size transparent visor that will offer better wind deflection while touring at higher speeds. A new headlight equipped with a projector lamp, also makes its way onto the new bike. It will, however, continue to use protruding indicators. Bajaj, in the past, had equipped its Pulsar 220F with a similar projector headlight and quarter fairing. The Pulsar 220F is still sold, and continues to bring in good numbers for Bajaj even today.

The rest of the bike is the same, including its chassis, tyres, Bybre disc brakes up front and rear, and the split saddle. Overall, the motorcycle, in the flesh, looks smart and visually different from any other Bajaj motorcycle we have seen so far.

The engine that is expected to make its way here is developed by KTM and Bajaj. It has already proven worthy, and draws in large sales numbers for Bajaj in India and in markets where it is exported. It is a four-stroke, 199.5cc, single-cylinder and water-cooled engine developing 23.2bhp of power and 1.86kgm of torque.

Bajaj's Discover 150F has also been doing well since launch. It offers a good balance between performance and economy, and is equipped with a similarly well-styled quarter fairing panel.

We at Autocar India have also spotted the same Bajaj Pulsar NS with a quarter fairing, testing on the Pune-Lonavala highway, however, we were unable to click any pictures.
