The Indian made, Italian Moto Guzzi The Trip detailed specification is now revealed. As we reported last month, it shares the powertrain and other components with the Aprilia Tuono 457.

  1. The 457cc parallel-twin engine makes 47.6hp and 43.5Nm of torque
  2. Gets preload adjustable suspension at both ends
  3. Features a 3.6-inch round instrument cluster, 3 riding modes and traction control

Moto Guzzi The Trip: details

Both Moto Guzzi and Aprilia has the same parent company; Piaggio

The Trip is powered by the 457cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine which produces 47.6hp at 9,400rpm and 43.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm (which is 200rpm earlier than the Tuono 457) paired to a 6-speed gearbox, like the Aprilia Tuono 457. Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm USD fork at the front and an offset monoshock at the rear, both are preload adjustable. Along with this, the cycle parts are also carried forward from the Tuono 457, meaning the 17-inch wheels, 320mm front disc and 220mm rear disc are the same on The Trip.

Apart from the powertrain, it gets a new chassis and swingarm setup. It has an accessible  790mm seat height, a 15-litre metal fuel tank and weighs 180kg. Along with this, the electronic sites consist of a 3.6-inch round TFT display, dual-channel ABS, traction control and three riding modes (Road, Rain and Sport). The motorcycle will have three colours to choose from: Black Metropolis, Green Grove and Red Beat. There’s also a special edition called The Opening.

Moto Guzzi has not yet confirmed if The Trip will launch in India. However, since it shares its core engine and electronics with the Aprilia Tuono 457, which retails at Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom), we expect it to carry a slightly lower price tag if it arrives.

Poll of the month

There will be 12 new Citroen and Jeep launches by 2030. Will this boost interest in these brands?

Yes, fresh models is just what's needed.
Only if sales and service expands alongside.
Won't be enough. Established brands are too strong.
