A few weeks after it was listed on some e-commerce websites, Kinetic Green has launched the E Luna at an introductory price of Rs 69,990 in India (ex-showroom, Delhi). This price is for the variant that has a 1.7kWh battery, while the one with the 2kWh battery pack is priced at Rs 74,990.

  1. Weighs just 96kg ready to ride
  2. Full charge takes 4 hours

The Kinetic E-Luna has a very simple and utilitarian design although it does miss out on the signature pedals that were on the popular petrol moped that it succeeds. The rear seat can be removed for additional storage space and the E Luna weighs just 96kg ready to ride. Couple that with a 760mm seat height, this should be a very easy and friendly machine to ride, even with big loads. Speaking of its load-carrying capacity, Kinetic claims the E Luna can carry loads of up to 150kg.

Powering the E-Luna is either a 1.7kWh battery or a 2kWh unit, of which the latter is rated for a claimed range of 110km and a full charge will take 4 hours. A portable charger is included in the aforementioned price. Down the road, the E Luna will also be available with a larger 3kWh battery, with a claimed range of 150km on a single charge.

A telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers suspend the tubular frame and the E-Luna gets drum brakes at both ends. It runs on spoked 16-inch wheels shod with tube-type TVS Eurogrip tyres. Claimed top speed is 50kph and a hub-mounted motor that's rated for a peak output of 2.2kW and 22Nm drives the Kinetic E-Luna.

This is a relatively spartan machine but it still gets a digital dash, 3 riding modes, a USB charging port as well as a side stand cut-off. It can be had in five colours – red, blue, yellow, green and black.

The Kinetic E Luna can be booked for a token amount of Rs 500 and the company has said that deliveries will begin ‘soon’ from all dealerships but hasn’t given an exact timeline. One can also purchase the E Luna from e-commerce websites such as Amazon and Flipkart.
