Kawasaki recently revived the Eliminator name with a Japan-specific 399cc version, but now the company has developed a new 451cc millwhich will make it to other international markets, and maybe even India.

Kawasaki Eliminator: Engine

The larger liquid-cooled, 451cc, parallel-twin engine has been derived from the Ninja 400’s 399cc mill by lengthening the stroke of that engine. Kawasaki claims that this engine will prioritise low and mid-range grunt over a screaming top-end (like most small-capacity parallel twins) and this should make it a better fit for the more laidback Eliminator.

Kawasaki Eliminator: Design

The design of the Eliminator is an amalgamation of the cruiser format and blacked-out neo-retro elements. It has a raked out front end and a more pleasing design compared to the larger Vulcan S. While it has modern underpinnings, the twin shock absorbers are true to the cruiser format.

Kawasaki Eliminator: Variants

The Eliminator can be had in two variants – standard and SE – both of which are mechanically identical to each other. Over and above what the standard variant gets, the SE variant brings dual-tone paint, fork gaiters, a USB type-C charger and a small flyscreen into the mix.

Kawasaki Eliminator: Features

The Eliminator is quite a feature-packed machine and gets a digital dash with Bluetooth connectivity, slip-and-assist clutch, a USB type-C charger (only on the SE variant) and full LED lighting. The Japan-spec bike, however, has an ace up its sleeve and to know what that is, click here.

Kawasaki Eliminator: India launch?

The original Kawasaki Eliminator 175, upon its launch, was initially considered a very premium product in India, but it eventually gained quite a following. It was essentially this model that paved the way for the Bajaj Avenger’s success.

The Eliminator you see here has nothing in common with the 175cc model, except the name and with this new bike being touted for a European launch soon, it isn’t entirely out of the realm of possibility for the bike to make its way to our shores. If it does come here, its closest rivals will be the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and the Benelli 502C.

Would you choose the Eliminator over the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650? Let us know in the comments section below.
