Indian Motorcycle has issued a voluntary recall for their FTR range of bikes, with the issue concerning units from model year 2019, 2020 and 2022. This Indian recall is part of a global campaign announced by the Springfield-based American marque.

The recall is due to an issue with the liquid-cooling system on the bike that might cause hot coolant to leak on the rear tyre and, alarmingly, on the rider as well. If the coolant does spill on the rear tyre, it would lead to reduced grip, which is a dangerous situation. Needless to say, hot coolant does not feel very nice on human skin, and could result in severe burns.

Indian Motorcycle will contact customers of all affected models in India via its dealership network. However, exact details regarding the rectification procedure haven’t been disclosed by Indian Motorcycle yet.
