    Harley-Davidson’s recently launched X440 has secured 25,597 bookings at the close of its first booking window. Harley dealers had officially started accepting bookings on July 4 for Rs 5,000.

    Harley Davidson X440 deliveries, updated prices

    Hero says that test rides of the Harley X440 will begin on September 1, with deliveries beginning in October. Hero MotoCorp will manufacture the Harley-Davidson X440 at Neemrana, Rajasthan, and says that deliveries will be made on a prioritised basis as per booking dates.

    The official statement said that the introductory ex-showroom prices have been revised, with the Denim, Vivid and S trims now costing Rs 2,39,500, Rs 2,59,500 and Rs 2,79,500, respectively. These new prices will come into effect when the booking window reopens.

    Harley Davidson X440 powertrain

    The Harley-Davidson X440 is powered by an air-/oil-cooled, 440cc, single-cylinder engine that’s rated for 27hp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Mated to this large thumper is a 6-speed gearbox.

    Triumph Speed 400 has received close to 20,000 bookings

    Yet another rival of midsize Royal Enfields is the Triumph Speed 400, which entered the Indian market around the same time and has received close to 20,000 bookings, say sources.
