Harley-Davidson first started the Project LiveWire tour in America in June last year, to gain customer feedback for its first electric motorcycle. It had also announced that the tour will expand to Canada and Europe in 2015. Harley has now announced that they will also foray into Asia as a part of its feedback tour.

Harley is currently preparing for its first 'invite only' customer ride, scheduled from February 25 at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit. It will go on for about a week. Only selected riders, including journalises from America, Asia, Europe and Canada will have the opportunity to help guide the development of this new electric bike.

“Project LiveWire has reset expectations about what a Harley-Davidson motorcycle can be,” said Mark-Hans Richer, Chief Marketing Officer, Harley-Davidson. “The first phase of the Project LiveWire Experience tour provided valuable feedback about the features that experienced riders expect from an electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle. This year, we’re expanding that experience to a global audience to gain even deeper insights from riders to help us shape the future direction of this exciting technology.”

As we know, even those who do not ride motorcycles have the opportunity to get astride the bike through a simulated riding experience called the JumpstartTM demo.

Harley-Davidson says that last year, more than 15,000 customers gave their valuable feedback on Project LiveWire, which included 6,800 people who took demo rides as part of the tour across America.

Harley-Davidson's retail plans will also be influenced by the feedback provided by customers during the Project LiveWire Experience tour. We just have to wait and watch if the tour makes it here to India too.
