American bike manufacturer Harley-Davidson is expanding its completely knocked down (CKD) line-up in India. In addition to the SuperLow, Iron 883, Forty-Eight, Street Bob, Super Glide Custom and Fat Bob from the Sportster and Dyna families, Harley-Davidson India is now also offering the Fat Boy, Heritage Softail Classic and Fat Boy Special from the Softail family at more affordable prices.

The 1690cc Fat Boy will now sell for Rs 14.9 lakh (earlier Rs 19.45 lakh when it was a CBU import), while the Fat Boy Special comes with a revised price tag of Rs 15.6 lakh as compared to Rs 19.70 lakh previously. And the Heritage Softail Classic is now Rs 16.25 lakh, down from Rs 20.45 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

From the 12 motorcycles in Harley’s India stable, nine are now available as imported into India via the CKD route, assembled at Harley-Davidson’s Bawal plant in Haryana. Harley’s CKD line-up makes these heavy motorcycles more attainable for Indian buyers as the Indian government has just raised customs duties.
