Mahindra has launched the Gusto 125, a more powerful iteration of the Gusto. Available in two variants, DX and VX, prices start from Rs 50,920 (ex-showroom, Chennai) for the base Gusto 125 DX.

The Gusto 125 is powered by a larger capacity 124.6cc, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that develops 8.5bhp (0.5bhp over the Gusto 110) and 1.02kgm of torque. The engine is paired with a CVT gearbox. Stopping power is provided by 130mm drum brakes, front and rear with Mahindra saying that they will launch a disc brake-equipped version soon.

The Gusto 125 carries over much of the features of its smaller sibling with the Gusto 125 VX coming equipped with features like LED guide lamps, folding key, height adjustable seat and find-me lamps to help located the scooter in a parking lot.

The Gusto 125 looks near identical to the smaller 110, with the main differentiators being the '125' badging on the side panels, different body graphics, and new design vents on the front fascia. The Gusto 125 is available in a choice of four colours – Orange Rush, Bolt White, Monarch Black and Regal Red – with the first two getting a dual-tone paint schemes.

The Gusto 125 rivals the likes of the new Suzuki Access 125 and the Honda Activa 125.
