Ducati records 12 percent growth

Gabriele Del Torchio, president, Ducati Motor Holding has announced sales of 6,500 motorcycles during May 2012. The company has registered an overall 12 percent growth in volumes and a 20 percent growth in revenues during the month over May 2011. The announcement came during the seventh edition of the World Ducati Week (WDW) 2012 (21-24 June) at Misano World Circuit, Italy which has just concluded. The grand event was attended by 65,000 visitors and according to Ducati, this edition is the biggest ever WDW so far. Major highlights of the event include the races performed by Valentino Rossi, Troy Bayliss and other champions.

Torchio quoted “the hard work done by everyone at Ducati has paid off and the results confirm the soundness of the strategies implemented from 2006-2011. Thanks to policies focussed on product development, ever-higher investment levels, careful marketing aimed at making the Ducati brand ever-more admired and respected worldwide and the development of emerging markets,”

Ducati’s success chart includes worldwide sales of 35,300 motorcycles during 2006 rising to 42,200 motorcycles during 2011.
