Honda is all set to launch the BS6-compliant Activa 125 in India on September 11, 2019, and while we wait for the price, we’ve got our hands on some of the scooter’s specifications. A leaked official document denotes the engine capacity, power figures as well as the dimensions of the new Honda Activa 125.

The new Honda Activa's 124cc BS6 engine develops 8.1hp at 6,500rpm, which is slightly lower than what the motor in the outgoing model produced (8.52hp at 6,500rpm). The new engine is a fuel-injected unit which results in cleaner tailpipe emissions and this should also translate to better fuel efficiency. Honda seems to have put in a lot of effort while developing its first BS6 two-wheeler for India and has filed as many as 26 patents while developing this scooter.

Along with the new motor, the Activa 125 gets a quickstarter system, digi-analogue instrumentation, idle start-stop system.

The new instrument cluster also displays real-time fuel efficiency and distance-to-empty information. Other updates include a side-stand down indicator with an engine inhibitor (which prevents the bike's engine from starting while the side stand is down), front glove box and an external fuel-filler cap.

The Honda Activa 125 BS6 will be available with a three-year warranty that can be extended by an additional three years.
