BMW Motorrad has revealed its sales numbers for the first quarter of 2020 and with 1,024 motorcycles sold during the period, it posts a 71.5 percent growth compared to the same period last year (597 units in Q1 2019).

The company also revealed that 'over 80 percent' of the sales are from the G 310 R and the G 310 GS. While we still wait for an exact number, 80 percent accounts for over 820 units, which is more than total sales in Q1 2019. A contributing factor to the increase in sales could lie in the fact that BMW Motorrad was offering massive discounts (up to Rs 70,000 off) on the BS4 G 310 R and G 310 GS to clear stock before the BS6 norms came into effect. Other models from the range were also being sold at discounted rates; the F 850 GS, for example, was available with up to Rs 3.5 lakh off on its Rs 12.95 lakh price tag.

Lately, BMW Motorrad has also increased the number of customer experience programmes in India with events like the G 310 GS Cup that was introduced in February.
