Bike and scooter sales on the upswing in March 2026

Sales numbers for the top companies in the Indian two-wheeler industry have come out for the final month of FY26 and here’s how each heavyweight performed.

Hero: 5,52,505 units

Hero maintained its usual position at the top of the pile and did so while recording a 6.87 percent increase over its February 2026 sales number (5,16,968 units). On a year-on-year basis, the brand reported a 9.05 percent increase from 5,06,641 units. It exported 45,693 units in March 2026, up from 41,248 in February.

Honda: 5,12,303 units

Honda was in its usual number two spot and reported a 0.17 percent month-on-month dip from 5,13,190 units. However, compared to March 2025’s 4,01,411 units, its sales surged 27.63 percent. The company exported 36,842 units in March, a sizable drop from 54,161 units in the preceding month.

Honda recently announced that it is looking to expand its off-road bike line-up in India and focus more on off-road racing in the country.

TVS: 3,72,383 units

Hosur-based TVS reported a small 1.90 percent increase over its February 2026 numbers (3,65,471 units). But compared to March 2025 (2,97,622 units), sales soared 25.12 percent. The company exported 1,25,751 units, which is a drop from 1,42,391 units in February 2026.

The design of the Norton Manx R V4 superbike has been patented in India, which signals that the TVS-owned brand is inching closer to a market launch.

Bajaj: 2,21,021 units

Bajaj has breached the 2 lakh unit mark in domestic sales after a bit of a hiatus, reporting a healthy 18.72 percent increase over February 2026’s 1,86,164 units. Bajaj also posted a sizeable 20.34 percent increase in comparison to its March 2025 tally of 1,83,659 units. Bajaj is India’s largest two-wheeler exporter, and it shipped 1,59,452 units last month, which was quite a drop from 1,93,757 units in February.

The company recently relaunched the Pulsar 180 and is gearing up to revamp all of the Classic Pulsar models later this year.

Suzuki: 1,05,397 units

Suzuki, which has been consistently posting six-figure monthly sales of late, recorded a 4.30 percent month-on-month increase in sales (February 2026: 1,01,071 units). On a year-on-year basis, sales slipped 0.32 percent from 1,05,736 units. Suzuki exported 22,830 units last month, which was a small increase compared to the 22,228 units in February.

Royal Enfield: 1,00,406 units

The company recently launched its first electric bike, the C6, under the Flying Flea banner, though currently it is only available in Bengaluru.
