Aprilia has revealed that it will launch the disc brake-equipped Storm 125 in India next month. Currently, the drum brake-equipped Storm 125 is the company’s most affordable offering in the country, and the new disc brake version is expected to cost only slightly more.

That said, the disc brake-equipped version should have been an option offered from the beginning. This welcome addition on the performance-oriented Storm 125 will finally give it the stopping power it needed. However, the scooter will still miss out on ABS and will only make do with a Combined Braking System (CBS); the rear continues with a drum brake. This doesn’t come as a surprise, as the brand would still want to keep costs in check.

The BS6-compliant Storm 125 (Rs 86,974) that was launched a couple of months ago witnessed a huge price hike of around Rs 22,000 over the BS4 model (Rs 65,000). This upcoming disc brake-equipped Storm 125 is expected to cost even more (closer to Rs 90,000). (All prices, ex-showroom, Delhi.)
