Images of the new TVS Apache RTR 160 have surfaced on the internet and reveal a styling language which is more in line with the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

The biggest mechanical change which can be noticed in the spy images is a change from dual-shock rear suspension to a new mono-shock at the back, which should improve the handling characteristics. A bump in power and torque is expected over the outgoing 15.4hp and 13.1Nm, although no specifications have been revealed at this moment. From the images, it is clear that the new bike's air-cooled engine uses an oil cooler for better heat management. This new motor will be compliant with BS-IV norms and it is unknown at this point whether it will feature a four-valve head like on the RTR 200 4V. One distinct similarity between this and the RTR 200 is the double-barrel exhaust.

Other changes include an LED tail light and an all-digital instrument cluster. Another big change is the prominent centre panel, which is now finished in silver and is a lot more prominent than the outgoing model. The fuel tank seems to be borrowed from the RTR 200, with its sleeker extensions, larger size and offset fuel filler cap. The new design of the tail section is a lot plainer when compared to the more intricate one from the RTR 200 and another interesting detail is the new tyre hugger.

The bike was spotted at TVS’s Hosur manufacturing facility. It gets a single-seat layout and the brakes spotted on this bike feature a disc at the front and drum at the back. Rear disc brake is an option on the outgoing bike and will likely be the same for the new bike as well.

Pricing for the outgoing model is Rs 76,575 and Rs 78,904 for the rear drum and rear disc versions, respectively. We expect prices for the new facelifted version to be in the same ballpark.
