Little less than a year ago, MV Agusta revealed a special edition of the Brutale 800, called the Brutale 800 America. Now, the company has now gone about making a similar America special edition on the top-spec Brutale 800 RR. Like the 800, the 800 RR harks back to the S America 750 (a USA-themed bike powered by an in-line-four engine) and sports the same red, white and blue livery, but is powered by a three-cylinder mill instead.

The original ‘S America 750’ made its debut in 1973 and featured an advanced (for its time) 75hp, in-line, air-cooled, four-cylinder engine with dual overhead camshaft. The latest Brutale 800 RR America, instead, is equipped with a 798cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder motor that makes 140hp and 87Nm of torque. Considering that this special edition is based on the RR, which is the top-spec Brutale, it gets a lot more than the ‘regular’ 800; the RR features cosmetic revisions, mechanical updates including a power bump and more equipment over the standard Brutale 800. Electronic engine control has also been upgraded with new algorithms and engine mappings.

This numbered special edition, meanwhile, has adds a few distinctive features, starting with a metallic blue colour scheme and star-studded motif on the tank, just like the one on the 1973 750 S. The radiator side panel sports the wording ‘America Special Edition’ and the bike also comes with a different seat. To highlight the exclusiveness of the Brutale 800 RR America, each bike will feature a production number, located on the instrument cluster fairing. This same production number will be found on the certificate of authenticity delivered to each owner.
