Hero Xtreme 160R 4V with cruise control: All you need to know
New variant costs Rs 4,485 more than the standard bike
The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V with cruise control retains the mechanical package of the standard bike, powered by a 163.2cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine producing peak output figures of 16.9hp at 8,500rpm and 14.6Nm at 6,500rpm. What differentiates it is the features.
This variant adds a ride-by-wire throttle system that enables cruise control, as we saw on the Xtreme 125R. The system also enables three riding modes – Rain, Road and Sport – that can be toggled via updated switchgear and a new colour-LCD dash shared with the Xtreme 250R. Speaking of which, this new variant also gets a revised LED headlight, inspired by the unit on the Xtreme 250R.
The Xtreme 160R 4V with cruise control is available in four colour schemes: dual-tone bronze and black finish, dual-tone forest green and neon green, black with red highlights, and the ‘Combat Edition’ matte grey colour that’s exclusive to this variant.
For roughly Rs 4,500 more than the standard variant, which has an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.30 lakh, the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V with cruise control offers some segment-first features that warrant the additional premium. These also give it a slight edge over rivals such as the Apache RTR 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar N160.
