A couple of days ago, Ducati released a teaser on its social media channels of a motorcycle’s headlights with some text. The text revealed some information about the bike; that the bike will use the Desmosedici Stradale engine, produce 208hp, and most importantly, be void of a fairing. This suggests that the bike in question is the naked version of the Panigale V4 – the upcoming Streetfighter V4.

We already have an idea on what the Streetfighter will look like as the prototype was unveiled at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. That bike was clad in "pixelated" livery, which Ducati claimed exalts the design lines and doesn’t hide them; so not much is expected to change on the production bike. Meanwhile, its mechanical components – wheels, suspension, brakes and frame – are likely to be the same as those on the Panigale V4. The Streetfighter will feature a taller handlebar and revised foot-peg position that will result in a more upright riding position.

The big naked prototype was also seen sporting wings, and the teaser has confirmed that they will also make their way onto the production bike. However, we could also see the Streetfighter V4 in more than one variant, with the ‘Biplane Wings’ being standard fitment on its higher-spec model.

The bike will be powered by the same 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4 from the Panigale V4, but the teaser suggests that it will be in a slightly different state of tune. The new Streetfighter will produce 208hp at 12,750rpm, which is slightly lower than the 214hp that the faired Panigale makes at 13,000rpm. Ducati has also revealed a weight of 178kg (dry), giving the Streetfighter a mind-boggling power-to-weight ratio of 1.16hp/tonne*.

Besides revealing the new Ducati Streetfighter V4, we may also see other motorcycles in the range get updates. The xDiavel, for instance, might get the updated set of electronics that debuted on the Diavel 1260, which launched in India this past August.
