Benelli has launched a new cruiser motorcycle at the 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The new Benelli Motobi 200 Evo is an entry-level cruiser offering from the Chinese-owned Italian brand. In terms of styling, the cruiser follows a more urban-centric design theme with blacked-out elements instead of chrome. The cruiser also sports a single-pod, fully digital instrument console and a stubby exhaust muffler.

Powering the Benelli Motobi 200 Evo is a 197cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor producing 13.9Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm and mated to a five-speed gearbox. However, Benelli hasn’t shared the power figures of the engine.

Cycle parts are also quite standard with telescopic front fork and twin-shock absorbers, while braking hardware consists of single disc brake unit on both ends. The cruiser runs on a 17-inch alloy wheel at front which comes wrapped with 90/90 section tyre; the rear features a 15-inch wheel with 130/90 section rubber. Fuel tank capacity is 11.8 litres and the motorcycle weighs 156kg.

Benelli has announced that the Motobi 200 Evo will go on sale in Indonesia first before being launched in other markets. As for our market – the new cruiser offering wouldn’t be going on sale in India anytime soon. However, if Benelli does bring the Motobi 200 Evo to India, it will rival the likes of the Bajaj Avenger 220 and the soon-to-be-launched UM Renegade Duty S and the Duty Ace.

Benelli will be launching two new 250cc motorcycles in India soon, you can read about them here.
