While the bonnet design is similar, it gets functional air vents to push more air to the engine.

The fenders are wider than the standard model and feature air vents for improved aerodynamics.

The spoiler uses swan-neck mounts that go through where the rear windshield is on the standard model.

The race-spec Golf R will mark 25 years of VW's performance-oriented 'R' badge.

After being absent from the international factory-backed motorsport space since 2021, Volkswagen has announced an upcoming track-only Golf R model built in association with Max Kruse Racing, which will race at the 24h Nurburgring event in 2027. Alongside the announcement, Volkswagen has shared the first glimpse at the hot hatchback’s “most spectacular” version with the Golf R 24H show car. While the upcoming racer’s class and powertrain details are yet to be standard Golf R. Although, the show car is draped in heavy camouflage, it gets some noticeable design changes compared to the regular model.
