Reasons not to buy the Yamaha FZ‑S Fi Hybrid
1. Underwhelming performance
Performance is carried over unchanged from the standard FZ‑S—12.4hp at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm—with no noticeable gain from the hybrid assist. In real‑world riding, it feels more like a quick 125cc than a proper 150/160cc bike—power delivery is smooth but uninspiring beyond 80 km/h.
2. Expensive
Priced at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex‑showroom, Delhi), it costs about Rs 10,000 more than the standard FZ‑S, but rivals like Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V which offer better performance, USD forks, and dual‑channel ABS at similar or lower prices. While the FZ‑S Hybrid does include traction control, it still has only single‑channel ABS—something that feels mismatched to the premium pricing.
