    Tata Nexon Dark price, variants explained

    Tata Motors had launched the Nexon facelift in September last year and it was only a matter of time before the Dark Edition variants for the compact SUV became available. Priced from Rs 11.45 lakh-15.80 lakh, the Nexon Dark is available from the mid-spec Creative trim onwards and costs about Rs 35,000 more than the variant it’s based on.

    Tata Nexon Dark Edition variants explained

    Tata offers the Nexon Dark with two engines – a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol that produces 120hp and 170Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre diesel unit that makes 115hp and 260Nm of torque. The former gets 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed dual-clutch auto options, while the latter gets a 6-speed manual and AMT options.

    There are a total of 23 trims to choose from as apart from the petrol-AMT, which is only available in Creative, Creative + and Creative + S trims, all other powertrain options come in five trim levels – including the top-spec Fearless and Fearless+ S.     Tata Nexon Dark Edition rivals 

    The Nexon Dark Edition takes on the range-topping and slightly unique versions of compact SUVs like the Kia Sonet X Line and the Hyundai Venue N Line. If the upcoming Skoda compact SUV gets a Monte Carlo version, it will also compete with the Nexon Dark.
