Nissan is set to launch three cars in India by 2027, one of which will be the new Gravite. Based on the same CMF-A+ platform that underpins the Renault Triber, the Nissan Gravite is the Japanese brand’s first foray into the relatively sparse compact MPV class in India. Aside from a few official teasers, Nissan has yet to divulge in-depth details of its upcoming 7-seater. Regardless, here is what we know so far about the Nissan Gravite.

1. What is the expected price of the Nissan Gravite?

The Nissan Gravite is expected to be priced from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The official prices of the Gravite will be announced in March 2026, and sales will commence shortly after.

2. How many engine options will be offered with the Nissan Gravite?

The Nissan Gravite is expected to be powered exclusively by the same 1.0-litre petrol engine that does duty in the Renault Triber. This naturally aspirated mill produces 72hp and 96Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. Nissan could also offer a CNG version as a dealer-fit option.

3. What features will the Nissan Gravite get?

Some of the features expected on the top trims of the Nissan Gravite are automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, push-button ignition, a wireless charging pad, a cooled glove box and cruise control. The Gravite will get dual digital displays, possibly the 7-inch instrument cluster and 8-inch infotainment touchscreen seen in the Renault Triber. Connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be included. The Gravite’s overall interior design and layout should largely be comparable to the Triber’s.

4. Which safety features are expected to be offered with the Nissan Gravite?

The safety features of the Nissan Gravite will include ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and 6 airbags. It will also get hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX anchors, a rearview camera, speed-sensing door locks and impact-sensing auto unlock. Higher trims of the Nissan Gravite will have front parking sensors as well.

5. What will be the seating capacity of the Nissan Gravite?

The upcoming Nissan Gravite should be available in a 7-seat configuration, just like the Renault Triber. The third-row seats of the Triber can be removed completely for added versatility and extra space. Nissan’s upcoming MPV is also likely to be offered with a removable third row.

6. What will the exterior design of the Nissan Gravite be like?

While the overall silhouette of the Gravite resembles that of the Triber, there are some differences to help set it apart from its Renault counterpart. The Gravite’s front fascia sports a version of Nissan’s trademark ‘V-Motion grille’, along with redesigned headlights and bold ‘GRAVITE’ lettering on the bonnet. The Nissan MPV will also feature revised tail-lights, new bumpers and a different design for its alloy wheels, especially on the top trim. Different colour options should further help distinguish the Gravite from the Triber.
