Me and my Cars: Neville Poonawala

What are you driving and why?

I drive a 2017 Ford Mustang, a 1985 Ford Mustang and a BMW 3 Series 330i (E46). Love the Mustangs for their heritage, looks and V8 power. The burble and torque are always exhilarating. The BMW 330i was a long time dream of mine. It has one of the best straight-six engines of all time, along with BMW’s driving dynamics. It’s a compact package with a big engine – it’s as good as it gets.

This is Neville’s 1985 Ford Mustang.

What’s next on your wish list?

I’ve always dreamt of owning a Porsche 911. Hopefully I’ll have one someday, along with a BMW 6 Series 635CSi (E24).

The most fun you’ve hadin a car?

Driving a Porsche 911 GT3 and a 911 Turbo S on the Autobahn in Germany.

    Favourite / Dream money-no-object car?

I love cars, so I have many dreams. A Ford Mustang Cobra, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and a Porsche GT3. I love the shapes, driving experience and performance of them all.

Who is your all time greatest motorsport hero?

Colin McRae, as he was the king of dirt in rallying.

    Favourite road?

The Autobahn in Germany with no speed limits.

What’s on your automotive bucket list?

Drive an 800hp 4WD Trophy truck in Baja Ensenada in Mexico. Also, to drive a World Rally Championship car.

What would you do with your last litre of fuel?

Put it in my car and floor it.

Your ideal 5 car garage would be?

    Ford Mustang Cobra

    Corvette ZR1

    Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

    Porsche 911 GT3

    BMW 6 Series 635CSi (E24)

    What was your first Car?

It was a Maruti 800 SS80 way back in 1990, with headers and a Cherry Bomb exhaust.
