With the new GST 2.0 rates announced, motorcycles with engines below 350cc have become more affordable, while bikes above 350cc have become more expensive. Here, we have considered two competitors — the Hero Xpulse 210 and the Kawasaki KLX230 — to see how much their prices have dropped compared to before and how they stack up against each other after the recent revision.

Hero Xpulse 210 price after GST 2.0

Prices for the Xpulse 210 have reduced by Rs 14,516

The Hero Xpulse 210 was earlier priced at Rs 1.76 lakh for the Base variant and Rs 1.86 lakh for the Top variant. With the revised GST rates, prices now start at Rs 1.62 lakh and Rs 1.71 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom prices).

There are two variants of the Xpulse 210: Base and Top. Both variants use the same 210cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivers 24.6hp at 9,250rpm and 20.7Nm at 7,250rpm. The Top variant gets a TFT display and dual-channel ABS instead of the single-channel system on the Base variant. Additionally, it also gets knuckle guards and a windscreen for a more rugged look.

Kawasaki KLX230 price after GST 2.0

Prices for the Xpulse 210 have reduced by Rs 15,000

The KLX230 was first launched for Rs 3.30 lakh. In August, Kawasaki localized the product, the price dropped by Rs 1.30 lakh, and it cost Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom prices, India). Now, with the GST 2.0 rates, the price has come down to Rs 1.84 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a very attractive proposition.

The KLX230 is available in a single variant with two colour options on offer. It is powered by a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 19hp at 7,800rpm, a peak torque of 19Nm at 6,200rpm, and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by a 37mm telescopic fork and monoshock, and it makes use of a tiny 7.5-litre fuel tank. In terms of features, it gets a basic LCD screen with Bluetooth and single-channel ABS.

Hero Xpulse 210 vs Kawasaki KLX230 price comparison

The KLX230 is priced around Rs 13,000 more than the Top variant of the Xpulse 210

The base variant of the Hero Xpulse 210 is the most affordable, priced at Rs 1.62 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 22,000 more affordable than the KLX230. The Top variant, on the other hand, is priced around Rs 13,000 more than the KLX230. Pricing between the models is close; the Xpulse offers more features and better highway/touring abilities, while the KLX230 is a proper dual-sport machine, which is lightweight and purpose-built for tackling off-road trails.

For riders who want an even more affordable motorcycle that has good on/off-road capabilities, the older Xpulse 200 4V is still available and now priced starting at Rs 1.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
