Hero Xpulse 210: 3 reasons to buy and 2 reasons to skip

Hero Xpulse 210

The Hero Xpulse 210 is the long-awaited evolution of India’s most affordable adventure bike. With more performance, better equipment and revised styling, it aims to take the Xpulse formula to the next level. But does it deliver? Here are three reasons to buy it and two reasons you might want to think twice.

Reasons to buy Hero Xpulse 210

1. Bigger, stronger engine

The new 210cc liquid-cooled motor is a big leap forward from the old 200cc air-cooled unit. It produces 24.3hp and 20.4Nm, making the bike significantly livelier on the open road. The six-speed gearbox also makes highway cruising far more relaxed than before.

2. Pocket-friendly proposition

Hero has priced the Xpulse 210 quite aggressively, considering the kit on offer. Features like LED lighting, a TFT with Bluetooth connectivity, switchable ABS and liquid-cooling are usually found on more expensive motorcycles, but the Xpulse manages to keep the asking price in check.

3. Excellent ride quality

Thanks to its long-travel suspension and comfortable ergonomics, the Xpulse 210 soaks up bad roads with ease. Whether you’re tackling trails or riding in the city, the suspension setup delivers a plush and confidence-inspiring ride.

Reasons not to buy Hero Xpulse 210

1. No tubeless spoke wheels

For a do it all ADV, the absence of tubeless spoke wheels, even as an option – feels like a big miss. For riders that will primarily spend their time on road, the hassle to fix a puncture or even carry around a spare tube will be quite tedious. However, the tubed setup should work in the favor of anyone that intends to use this motorcycle for serious off-road riding.

2. Engine heat in traffic

The liquid-cooled motor is a big improvement in performance, but in slow-moving city traffic it tends to run warm. For riders who commute daily in dense urban conditions, this could be a noticeable drawback.
