Follow usThe Yamaha MT-15 V2.0, the naked sibling of the Yamaha R15 V4, is among the most popular streetfighters in the 150cc segment. Here are answers to some of the most common questions about it.
Yes, both bikes are powered by Yamaha’s tried-and-tested 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. However, the MT-15 V2.0 features shorter gearing thanks to a larger 52-tooth rear sprocket (versus the R15’s 48-tooth), which makes it more tractable and fuel-efficient in the city but gives it a lower top speed on the highway. As a result, while both feel similarly refined, the MT-15 feels more at home in urban conditions.

Yes, the Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 comes equipped with an assist and slipper clutch. This feature makes the clutch lever lighter to operate in traffic and should also help reduce wheel hop or locking during aggressive downshifts.
Prices for the Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 currently range from Rs 1.69 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), depending on the colour option. The Yamaha MT-15 is available in six colour schemes.
The Yamaha MT-15 V2.0’s primary rival in terms of price and specifications is the recently launched KTM 160 Duke. However, given its relatively premium pricing, it also competes in the same price bracket as the larger-capacity Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
