Following a fairly long bout of teases, the Nissan Gravite compact MPV has been launched in India. The Gravite is effectively Nissan’s version of the Renault Triber, utilising the same top hat but with a bevy of styling revisions inside and out. Let’s have a look at everything that sets these two compact MPVs apart, and the areas where they're exactly the same.
Nissan Gravite vs Renault Triber: exterior design
Lots of unique design cues on Gravite
Up front, one of the most notable changes on the Gravite is a larger honeycomb-patterned grille; the Triber has a slimmer grille with diagonal slats. The Gravite’s headlights also have segmented DRLs, as opposed to the unbroken eyebrow-like signature of the Triber’s, and there’s ‘GRAVITE’ lettering on the former’s bonnet too. Lower down, the Gravite gets a redesigned bumper with big C-shaped inserts.
Over to the sides, there’s not much to separate these compact MPVs aside from their wheel designs, but the Gravite does offer chrome door handles in top-spec guise as opposed to the Triber’s black door handles. The rear end of the Gravite has a bit more flair than that of the Triber, courtesy of C-shaped inserts, hexagonal indents in the bumper, and a revised skid plate with an integrated reversing light.
Nissan Gravite vs Renault Triber dimensions | ||

| Ground clearance (mm) | 182 | 182 |
In terms of dimensions, both compact MPVs are nearly identical, save for the Gravite being 2mm longer overall and 1mm taller.
Nissan Gravite vs Renault Triber: interior and features
Gravite dashboard layout is borrowed from pre-facelift Triber
Rather intriguingly, the Gravite’s dashboard sports the exact same layout as that of the pre-facelift Triber, evident by the central infotainment touchscreen and AC vents above it. The 2025 Triber facelift’s interior instead has a floating touchscreen, lower-set central AC vents, and slimmer trim piece up top. However, the portion of the Gravite’s centre console with the engine start/stop button is shared with the facelifted Triber. The Gravite interior is also available in different colour schemes depending on the trim level, and it retains the Triber’s 5+2 seating layout.
Thankfully, the older dashboard layout of the Gravite doesn’t preclude it from being on par with the Triber on the features front. In higher variants, both compact MPVs are equipped with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a 4-speaker sound system, a wireless charging pad, a cooled glove box, a reverse camera, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, push-button start/stop, cruise control, automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, 6 airbags, rear AC vents, parking sensors, steering-mounted controls, and more.
Interestingly, the Gravite Launch Edition – only 1,001 units – additionally packs accessories like a JBL sound system, a dual-channel dashcam, a cabin air purifier, ambient lighting, etc. These are available as accessories for the Triber too.
Nissan Gravite vs Renault Triber: engine and gearbox
Under the bonnet, the Gravite and Triber are exactly the same. They come with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that outputs 72hp and 96Nm, mated to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.
Gravite AMT starts at a cheaper price point
Rather crucially, though, the Triber gets the AMT option in its top-spec Techno trim only, whereas the Gravite offers the gearbox in its one-below-top trim as well, thereby making the petrol-automatic powertrain more affordable. The Triber can also be had with a dealer-fit CNG kit for the petrol-MT powertrain, and Nissan will soon offer the same for the Gravite.
Nissan Gravite vs Renault Triber: price
Gravite is easier on the pocket overall
The Gravite’s starting price undercuts that of the Triber by Rs 11,000, and the rest of the Nissan MPV’s standard variant line-up is largely more affordable too; the limited-run Gravite Launch Edition price range is Rs 8.35 lakh-8.93 lakh, making it more expensive than the range-topping Triber Emotion trim.
However, it’s worth noting that the Gravite’s pricing is introductory and applicable to the first 5,000 bookings, after which it could increase.
All prices are ex-showroom, India.
