Hi, I am planning to buy a car that offers good reliability, fuel efficiency and space, as it will be used as a family car in semi-urban areas and occasionally in rural areas. Considering my budget, I am confused between the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Sigma, Brezza LXI Turbo Manual, Hyundai Venue HX2 Kappa petrol manual and Tata Altroz Pure diesel manual. Which one would be the best choice?

Given that you drive in semi-urban and rural areas, we would recommend avoiding the hatchbacks and going with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza or the Hyundai Venue, as they offer a little better ground clearance and the higher seating position will make seeing the road surface easier. Between the two, the Maruti car is genuinely reliable with a proven ownership track record, and it is well suited to semi-urban and rural driving conditions, and you would likely find it a bit easier to access a service centre given Maruti's widespread network.
The Tata Altroz diesel is tempting from a fuel efficiency perspective, but diesel ownership only makes sense if your annual running is consistently high, and Tata's long-term ownership experience is not as reassuring as Maruti's or Hyundai's.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza
