Motorsport enthusiasts in India will get their first taste of the World Superbike Championship that will be hosted at the Buddh International Circuit on March 9-10, 2013. Jaypee Sports International (JPSI) has cracked a four year deal with Infront Motor Sports, allowing the former to host the sport in India from 2013 to 2016.

On the occasion of signing the agreement, Sameer Gaur, JPSI MD & CEO said: “We are extremely happy to announce that besides holding the Formula 1 and FIA GT1 motor racing series, we will also hold a thrilling motorcycle race, World Superbike Championship, at BIC early next year.”

Chairman of Infront Motor Sports, Maurizio Flammini said: “After meeting the promoters of Jaypee Group last year, I got the feeling that I was dealing with highly professional and powerful corporate house which will guarantee the organization of a successful race in India. We are sure that the FIM Superbike World Championship will bring added value to BIC, as well as to India and vice versa.”

Back in 2011, the Jaypee group had assured of introducing more global motorsport events to India, apart from the inaugural India GP. And by bagging the WSBK deal, JPSI has given the motorsport enthusiasts an opportunity to witness one of the most entertaining motorcycle competitions. Arrival of the WSBK in India will also add value to the automobile companies involved in the championship, giving them an opportunity to expand their brands and business in Asia.
